Onigajo

Onigajo

It is not only a World Heritage site, but also a national natural monument and one of the 100 most scenic spots in Japan. The caves and cliffs, with their intricate and bizarre shapes created by erosion from rough seas and winds and upheaval from major earthquakes, are truly "devil's castles" in their own right. It takes about a 90-minute round trip to explore the entire area. Enjoy the dynamic beauty of the formations created by nature, such as the "Oni no Miharashidai" (Demon’s Lookout) which commands a panoramic view of the Sea of Kumano, and "Senjoujiki," a vast open plateau of rocks.
