Nachi Waterfall
The Nachi Waterfall, is one of the three most famous waterfalls in Japan and have long been revered as the object of worship of Hirou Shrine, a branch shrine of Kumano Nachi Taisha Grand Shrine. The waterfall has long been worshipped for its longevity and has been visited by many ascetic practitioners and worshippers since ancient times. The water column is 133 meters high, the top of waterfall is 13 meters wide, and the basin is 10 meters deep, making it the largest waterfall in Japan. It is said that as much as 1 ton of water flows down every second, and it is breathtaking to see the numerous waterfalls overlapping the main stream from Mount Okumotori.
