Tsubaki-dera (Jizo-in Temple) — Special Opening of Main Hall & Kannon Hall with Garden Viewing

Discover remarkably unique Buddhas at a renowned temple where camellias (tsubaki) bloom.

This is a temple of the Jodo sect known for its "five-colored double-petaled camellia" whose petals fall one by one. The main hall and the Kannon Hall, where the "Goko-Shiyui-Amida-Nyorai" statue that is popular for its unique appearance is enshrined, will be open to the public for a special viewing. Enjoy the camellias and weeping cherry blossoms that adorn the garden.

Special Opening & Viewing of Sakura Mountain at Myomanji Temple Forest

A breathtaking view from the specially opened Sakura Hill.

A famous temple complex nestled in the tranquil Rakuhoku area. Behind the main hall, “Myomanji’s Forest Sakurayama” is dyed in pale pink Somei-Yoshino cherry blossoms that seem to blanket the entire hillside without a single gap. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy spring in a cherry blossom garden that is normally closed to the public.

Toji Temple Special Evening Visit (Early Entry) – Feel the Shift from Dusk to Night

The five-story pagoda and cherry blossoms welcome you to enjoy the spring scene just a short walk from the station.

At dusk, as the sky slowly changes color, you can enjoy viewing the cherry blossoms in the gardens, adorned with approximately 200 Somei-Yoshino, Kawazu-zakura, and weeping cherry trees with beautiful crimson hues. The interiors of the Kondo and Kodo halls, where many national treasures and important cultural property Buddhist statues are enshrined, can also be viewed in peace and quiet. The temple is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The sight of the Phoenix Hall, glowing in the darkness and reflected in Aji-ike Pond, is a breathtaking view beyond description. Together with the weeping cherry blossoms lining the water’s edge, the scene evokes a dreamlike vision floating in the spring evening. Feast your eyes on the valuable temple treasures on display as well. The temple is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Ninnaji Temple: Exclusive Early Morning Visit to Kondo Main Hall & Omuro Cherry Blossoms Viewing

Enjoy the late-blooming Omuro cherry blossoms in peace and quiet during the morning.

The five-story pagoda peeks out from a sea of late-blooming Omuro cherry blossoms. In the cherry grove, where one of Kyoto’s iconic spring landscapes unfolds, enjoy a slightly luxurious cherry‐blossom viewing experience before general opening hours. Daigoji Temple Reihokan: Exclusive Viewing of Illuminated Weeping Cherry Blossoms & Spring Treasure Exhibition

Lose yourself in Daigo’s weeping cherry blossoms at dusk.

Starting with Daigo’s great weeping cherry tree, which is over 180 years old, each weeping cherry tree is an imposing presence that looks as if it is pouring down from the sky. Enjoy the illumination that accentuates the ethereal beauty of the cherry blossoms. Participants can also view the temple treasures on display in the Reihokan Hall.

The Tokaido Shinkansen is a must – experience high-speed train that connects Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka in Japan.
You can book Shinkansen tickets via Shinkansen Online Reservation, which makes your travel more convenient.

Special activities must be booked in advance
To book the activities, you need to become a member of the Shinkansen Online Reservation Service

Register “Shinkansen Online Reservation” and get ID and Password.

*A compatible credit card is required for initial registration.

Book Special Viewing for members

Login “Shinkansen Online Reservation”  and go to “Hotels and Activities”.

Go to “Search Sightseeing plans”,
you can see the Plan List.

Enter Date of use, Days of use and
Destination (Region>Prefecture).
Push “Plan details” to book.

Select

Select the date of use, enter the number of people joining the activities and proceed to the reservation.

Book

Enter the Shinkansen Online Reservation
ID/Password to login.

Enter the name and contact details of the representative participant.

Please make a payment after confirming the date, time and the number of participants, and reading the notes.

Payment will be made with the credit card registered on “Shinkansen Online Reservation”.

The contract is complete when the application completion screen is displayed. You will receive a confirmation email at the same time as your reservation is complete.

STEP 3

Enjoy the activities with e-Ticket!

We can only accept e-Tickets for the Special Activities. You are not allowed to join the activity with your name, the reservation screen, nor the printed ticket only.
To display the e-Ticket, you will need a smartphone or tablet with an internet connection.
Please show the e-Ticket to the staff at the venue.
